Ready to Practice Across PSYPACT States?

PSYPACT is designed to make it easier for licensed psychologists in participating states to practice telepsychology and, with additional credentials, provide temporary in-person care in other PSYPACT states. This is especially powerful if you live or practice in states like Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Arizona.

Instead of applying for full licensure in every state where your clients live, PSYPACT lets you leverage your home state license, plus recognized credentials, to reach more people while staying compliant with each state’s rules. It can also help you:

  • Serve existing clients who move to another PSYPACT state
  • Reach new telehealth clients across multiple states
  • Build group or online practice models that span regions
  • Reduce the administrative burden of multi-state licensure

We help you translate your long-term practice goals into a compact strategy that fits your license, your time, and your budget.

PSYPACT FAQs

What is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT (the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) is an interstate compact that allows qualified psychologists licensed in participating states to practice telepsychology and, with the appropriate authorizations, provide temporary in-person services in other PSYPACT states.

Who is eligible for PSYPACT?

PSYPACT is for doctoral-level psychologists who hold an active, unrestricted license in at least one PSYPACT participating state and meet education, training, and disciplinary requirements. If you’re unsure whether you meet them, we will review your situation during your consultation. It is important to note. You must live, or stablish your "Home State" in a Psypact member state to qualify.

What are APIT and E.Passport?

To practice telepsychology under PSYPACT, you must obtain an E.Passport credential through ASPPB and then an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission.

What about temporary in-person practice (IPC or TAP)?

PSYPACT also provides limited-duration in-person practice options through credentials such as the Interjurisdictional Practice Certificate (IPC) or Temporary Authorization to Practice (TAP).

Can you help if I am not yet licensed in a PSYPACT state?

Yes. We can help you get licensed in a PSYPACT state and then pursue PSYPACT credentials as part of a larger multi-state plan, as long as you live or practice in person in a Psypact member state.

How long does the PSYPACT process take?

Timelines vary depending on your current license status and board processing times. We ensure your application materials are complete to help avoid delays. Many of our clients are approved within 2-4 weeks of their intake call.

How much does your PSYPACT support cost?

Our services cost $500. Psypact's application fee is $440.

Are you affiliated with PSYPACT or ASPPB?

No. We are not the PSYPACT Commission, ASPPB, or a state licensing board. We help you understand the rules and prepare your applications so you can move efficiently through the official process.
