I Thought I Was Done After Grad School. I Was Wrong
When I graduated, I thought the hard part was behind me. I’d written the papers, done the internships, put in the hours. I was ready to finally start helping people, to do the work I had trained so long to do. And then I met the licensing process. What should have been a straightforward path turned into months of confusing instructions, unclear requirements, and conflicting answers depending on who I asked. I remember spending entire evenings trying to interpret phrases like“approved supervision under appropriate oversight.” I thought I was missing something. Turns out, the system was. Every state had different rules, every board used different forms, and every answer seemed to end with, “It depends.” We were trained to help people, not to navigate bureaucratic mazes.
So I started writing things down: what worked, what didn’t, which forms mattered, which didn’t, until it became clear: no one should have to figure this out alone. That was the seed that grew into Simplified Licensing.
Why I’m Sharing This
I’m not here to complain about the process; I’m here to change the experience of it. Because when the system is confusing, it keeps great therapists from doing what they were called to do. And when great therapists quit out of frustration, people lose access to help they need.
Simplified Licensing was built out of empathy, not business strategy. It’s a way to make sure that passionate, qualified professionals don’t get lost in the red tape.
We help therapists:
Understand their state-specific licensing path
Stay organized through supervision and documentation
Avoid delays and denials
Feel confident they’re on track—finally!
If You’re in It Right Now
If you’re knee-deep in forms and wondering if it’s supposed to feel this hard, it’s not you. The system is confusing.
You’re not lazy, unmotivated, or behind; you just need someone who’s been through it to help you make sense of it.
And that’s what we do here.
Every post, every guide, every conversation, it’s all about making this process less painful and more human. Because getting licensed shouldn’t feel like a second full-time job. It should be the bridge that lets you finally do the work you were meant to do.
